How much does it cost Apple to make that $629 iPad? A little under $310. How much is that 3G modem, that they charge $130 for, worth? $16.
The model that costs $729? Costs them $330 to make.

Final thoughts on iPad.
Do I need one? No.
Does anyone need one? No, I don’t think it serves any function other than being an expensive toy.
That being said, if I were very wealthy and did not care about spending money, would I spend $830 on a 64GB iPad with 3G? Most likely.
It’s a 9.7” touch screen running iPhone OS, incapable of running Flash or multi-tasking. And unlike the iPhone, it can’t...

Apple claims that the iPad is HD.
I’m sorry, but that’s a lie. And they shouldn’t be allowed to do that. Let’s do some math.
HD is 1280 x 720, minimum. 921,600
the iPad is 1024 x 768. 786,432 pixels.
The iPad is ~15% less than HD in terms of overall real estate.
But let’s say you’re watching a movie. HD movies are widescreen, with a ratio of 16:9.
